Hans has asked me to knit him a scarf. The symbols/lines have something to do with music. I asked him to draw the scarf so I would understand what he had in mind. He’s asked for it to be navy and gray, and we chose Woolfolk Far for its softness.
I’m not sure how to knit this. The background is gray and the designs are navy. Should I raise them in purls? Brioche? I guess I have some swatching to do!
I think either way would be really nice to look at. The key is which would you rather knit:)

What about matrix knitting I think it’s called, where it’s slipped stitches?

Yes that might work. And I don’t think I’ve ever done that so it will be new for me!

The mosaic knitting idea could work! Here’s a pattern generator to test it out patterns: https://www.pakin.org/mosaicknit/

Mosaic knitting would work, or double knitting would do it as well! Or just plain colorwork?

I’d choose mosaic, or colorwork – if you’ve not done mosaic, here’s a good chance to knock it off your list!

Or you could knit it plain and then embellish it with embroidery?
