๐Ÿค“ Nerd Alert! ๐Ÿ‘ Sunday Year of Projects Update ๐Ÿงถ

I took a wonderful Breed Specific Knitting workshop from Longway Homestead yesterday. It was a gift from Bob for Christmas. I learned about breeds and wool and crimp and staple length and microns. Conclusion: I want to raise Shetland sheep.

Knitting

Iโ€™ve updated my YOP list. I also rearranged the order to try to reflect a chronology. I will probably continue to do that as I make my way through the list. Thereโ€™s not much else to say other than look at my beautiful Moondrake Advent Litmus Cowl! Itโ€™s knitting up fast. Knitting stripes is fun!

I bundled yarn by colors and am making my way through the rainbow, with stripes of the big skein in between hues. I numbered the bundles so I wouldnโ€™t forget the order. ๐Ÿค“

Fiber Art

Itโ€™s a long weekend so Iโ€™m going to frame โ€œHay for Days,โ€ start โ€œBlue Moon,โ€ and dye some fiber.

This has been a Year of Projects Update. You can read my updated list here. You can find out more about the group here.

Noodle Club

I received my first Noodle Club subscription yarn from Ramen Needles. Itโ€™s super fun. It also glows under a black light. Now Iโ€™m looking for a black light. Iโ€™m not sure what to do with it, so I will stash it away and percolate on it. Itโ€™s single ply merino and silk. Might make a nice Pembroke Scarf (Ravelry link).

Today is our Blogville Knitters Virtual Knit at 1PM Eastern. If you are new and would like to join us by Skype, please DM your Skype ID to me on Instagram or Ravelry.

  1. Gee, thanks a lot. I just spent the past 20 minutes reading about Shetland Sheep. Not that I would ever run a sheep farm, being a city girl and all. They do sound like a good sheep to raise though. Your cowl is so pretty. I like the colors that are going into it. Smart move to number them so you know which ones go where. That yarn from the Noodle Club is smashing. How fun that it glows under a black light.

  2. Well plenty of the ladies at our Guild have pet sheep. Do you have the land for any? A Halloween type thingy seems possible for your yarn. Your litmus is very pretty. I am sooooo tempted to cast mine on but want to finish my current project first.

  3. Your rainbow yarns look so pretty. What a joy to knit with. Your black light yarn reminds me that I bought some black light yarn a year ago not having any idea what I’d do with it. I still have no idea what I’m going to do with it but I enjoy that I have it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Your Ramen Needles Noodle Club yarn is SO cool!! I’m sure it will be beautiful no matter what you decide it should become!

And the cowl is also great! I have some minis coming to me soon, and I’m caching away ideas!

  5. That class sounds really interesting! I will have to keep a lookout to see if they run it again – very cool! Your cowl is looking lovely – those yarns look so beautiful together โค And I love the Ramen Needles Noodle club yarn! I was very seriously tempted by that, but I really need to work on knitting down the stash ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. It seems like a few of us are investigating different sheep breeds. What fun we are all having. I love you litmus cowl – the colours are amazing – and the noodle club is such a cute original idea.
